Operating & Maintenance Tips
Car air-conditioners should be run at least once a week – even outside of summer. In winter air-conditioning can be used in conjunction with a car’s heater as an evaporator. This will remove humidity from the cabin and fog from impairing visibility through the windscreen.
It is important to know when to Recirculate cabin air and when to Ventilate it – with outside air. This is EASILY controlled by simple click of a button or a turn of a lever. (Refer to images below). You can alternate where vent air is accessed from – between the floor of the cabin (recirculating cabin air) and air from outside the car.
When initially cooling down a hot cabin or dehumidifying a foggy windscreen, it is much more efficient to recirculate the cabin air.
Once cabin temperature and humidity are under control, it is highly recommended that you “turn off” the recirculate control and access fresh air from outside the cabin. This is because as little as 0.5% increase in CO2 has been found to cause drowsiness and headaches. Research in support of this danger have found a significantly large percentage of vehicles involved in country road accidents have had their A/C recirculate control left on.
Breathing recirculated cabin air beyond a certain period of time will result in an elevation in CO2.
REGULAR Air-conditioner “CHECK UPS“
We recommend having your car’s A/C checked every 2 years – in the lead up to the hot summer months. Most log book car services don’t include the car’s A/C. Our “Check Up” service is FREE and can be done whilst you wait.
WINDOW TINTING is not just aesthetic, it significantly assists with cooling your vehicle.
For example, our top of the line black metallic tint is rated as reflecting up to 70% of the sun’s heat, significantly reducing the cooling requirement of an A/C system. “Click” here for Car Tinting Details
DEODORIZING & SANITIZING AN A/C SYSTEM
Moisture build up in all sorts of crevices throughout your A/C system can be a breeding ground for harmful bacteria and fungus.
Ask us about our sanitizing treatment to help remove these contaminants and help remove the musty odour from your vents.
