In certain circumstances a more thorough investigation needs to be done – especially if there is any suspicion of a leak in an A/C system.
As well as having to be licensed by The Australian Refrigeration Council, refrigeration technicians are also bound by a Duty of Care to ensure A/C systems are leak free – prior to charging them with any refrigerant. This is because of Australia’s strong environmental stance against global warming and the harmful effects of automotive refrigerant R134A if it gets out into the atmosphere.
It would be highly irresponsible of us to risk releasing refrigerant into the environment by charging a suspiciously leaky A/C system – in order to try and save a customer some money.
Please note : We are obliged to assume that a system may be suseptable to leaks if it has either no refrigerant charge or a low refrigerant charge – when it comes to us. This is our Duty of Care – and we take it seriously.
We charge $79 +gst for this Thorough A/C Check & Diagnosis. It also includes any leak testing required.
This can take up to 2 hours (or more) and CANNOT be performed whilst you wait.
Following this we report our findings to you and give you our opinion on your options for any rectification and or optimization work.
As well as being a requirement by The Australian Refrigeration Council, this thorough A/C check & diagnosis can also end up saving a customer a lot of money.
A thorough diagnosis enables us to get a clearer picture of the sometimes multiple issues with an A/C system. It then enables us to format a more complete and efficient plan for rectifying all the issues. This can end up saving a customer time, money and heart ache.
